If you run a travel marketplace, connecting with the right suppliers is critical. At Tashi, we help you do just that.
With our built-in integration with FareHarbor’s API and the FareHarbor Distribution Network (FHDN), your marketplace can instantly access a global network of top-rated experiences, with live availability, real-time pricing, and automated commission handling.
Let’s unpack exactly what that means, and how it can help you grow.
What is FareHarbor?
FareHarbor is one of the world’s leading booking systems for tour and activity providers. It powers thousands of operators globally—from walking tours in Barcelona to ziplining in Queenstown—helping them manage inventory, take bookings, and run their operations.
But FareHarbor doesn’t just help operators manage their own bookings. It also enables distribution and resale, and that’s where the FareHarbor API and FHDN come in.
FareHarbor API vs FareHarbor Distribution Network (FHDN): What’s the difference?
Here’s a quick breakdown:
Feature | FareHarbor Reseller API | FareHarbor Distribution Network (FHDN) |
---|---|---|
What it is | A technical integration that allows trusted partners to pull live inventory, pricing, and make bookings | A B2B network where approved partners can discover and resell FareHarbor experiences |
Who uses it | Marketplaces, resellers, and platforms like Tashi | Tour operators, DMOs, concierge desks, and affiliate sellers, including Tashi users. |
How it works | Enables your site to show real-time data from trusted FareHarbor suppliers and take instant bookings | Connects FareHarbor suppliers with an ecosystem of resellers who can promote and sell their tours |
Do you need both? | No, but together they’re more powerful | Yes, if you want access to a wider range of FareHarbor suppliers |

🛂 Do I need to be pre-approved to use them?
Yes. Access to both the API and FHDN requires prior approval from FareHarbor.
- To use the main FareHarbour API, you must obtain explicit approval from each supplier (i.e., the operator whose account you want to access). This means they need to confirm the authorisation before you can make bookings via the API.
- The FHDN is available to active FareHarbor operators. You need to be a current FareHarbor client. Once onboarded, you can join the FHDN with a single contract, and FareHarbor handles OTA agreements, invoicing, and payouts
👉 At Tashi, we help guide you through this process—from the initial application to making your first bookings—so you can go live faster.

FAQs
What’s the difference between the FareHarbor API and FHDN?
The API enables your platform to connect to FareHarbor systems and pull in real-time product data from operators you've contracted directly with. The FHDN is the extended network of approved operators you can resell from at preset terms.
Do I need to be pre-approved by Fareharbour to use them?
Yes. Both the API and FHDN require FareHarbor to approve your company. Tashi will assist you with the application process.
Can I pick which FareHarbor experiences to feature?
Absolutely. You choose which suppliers you work with and which products appear on your marketplace.
What kind of experiences are in the FHDN?
Thousands of tours, activities, rentals, and attractions from around the world.
Is the integration free?
Yes. The integration is included in your Tashi subscription. There are no extra setup costs.
How do commissions work?
You can negotiate with suppliers you contract with using the main Fareharbour API. But suppliers available through the extended FHDN network preset the commission rates you can access. When you sell their tours, you earn commission, automatically tracked through Tashi.
Can I combine this with other booking tools?
Yes. Tashi also integrates with other leading platforms, such as TBO.com, which offers 1 million accommodation options, as well as multi-day tour speciality platform Tour Atlas, which offers more than 11,000 itineraries from over 50 leading multi-day tour operators and brands.
What if I’m just getting started with my travel marketplace?
Perfect. This integration lets you offer live-bookable tours from day one, even before you onboard your own suppliers.
